Quench Kit FAQs:
Q: I have no idea what to make, what should I do?
A: Simple! Just head on over to Instagram and check out all the photos we have of sample rings and monogrammed pendants! Or, just start working with the wax or clay, you might feel inspired as you go along. We also have a Pinterest page for more inspiration. Tag us @thequenchkit #thequenchkit and we'll feature your work of art.
Q: How much is shipping?
A: Shipping is FREE in the US only.
Q: How long until I get my finished piece?
A: Please allow 4 weeks for us to finish your piece, there's a lot that goes into finishing your ring or pendant and we want it to be perfect for you! We will mail your piece back to you by first class mail up to 5 days within the US and 10-16 workday days for International.
Q: I want to order a kit as a gift but I don't know their ring size?
A: Great question! Head on over to our ring sizing page, print out the PDF and follow the instructions!
Q: What is PMC?
A: PMC stands for Precious Metal Clay. It acts and looks like regular clay, but has tiny silver particles in it. When fired in a kiln, the clay and binder gets burnt away and you are left with the fine silver which has fused together. Because of the clay and binder being burnt away, the piece ends up being approximately 12% smaller than the size you made it.
Q: Can I order a second piece?
A: Yes! We have refill packs available! For the wax rings, the pack which includes the wax and more sandpaper. It includes the cost of the silver and polishing it. For the monogram and fingerprint kits, it includes PMC, more sandpaper and firing and polishing. All packs include shipping costs within the US.
Q: Can I have my piece made in gold?
A: Yes, you can have your ring made in gold, just let us know in the order form if you would like a quote for it in gold and we will email you a quote.
Q: I don’t live in the US, can I still buy a kit?
A: Yes! The shipping costs are different, but we'd love to get your started making jewelry. Contact us for more information.
Q: What if I've broken the wax or the PMC?
A: Take a photo of the piece and where it has broken and email it to us hello@quenchkit.com and we'll let you know if you need to start again, or if we can fix it here after you've sent it to us. Most of the time we can fix your pieces!
Q: I'm a procrastinator, how long do I have to mail in my piece?
A: We ask that you complete your piece and mail it back to us within 6 months of purchase.
Q: I've decided I no longer want to use the kit. What should I do?
A: We don't accept refunds, however, if you would like to gift the kit, please do.
Workshop FAQs:
Q: What is the age range for the kits and classes?
A: We have two types of classes, children's (10-17) and adults (18+). We ask that an adult is present with all children if you'd like your child to join us. The kits are suitable for children ages 10 and up, but we do suggest that you watch the video tutorials together and lend a helping hand.
Q: How long are the classes?
A: The classes are approximately 1.5-2 hours long
Q: What do I bring?
A: Bring some inspiration, snacks and drinks if you'd like
Q: Can I bring a friend?
A: Yes! Just purchase enough spaces for each of you.
Q: Can I make more than one piece?
A: Yes! Just purchase a refill kit and we'll have it with you in no time!
Q: I can no longer make the class, what should I do?
A: Please refer to our cancellation policy for details of your options.
Q: Do you do parties?
A: Yes! Email us hello@quenchkit.com with a few dates and how many people you're hoping to have at your party and we'll get back to you asap!
Q: Can you host a private event?
A: We'll be more than happy to bring Quench Kit to you if you're in the NYC area, just get in touch with us and we'll get back to you asap!
